I'm thinking about starting my own business, selling home made cosmetics, soaps, and other products such as essential oils, candles etc. I would like to test the market at a loppis firstly to see if they sell. Then hopefully, work my way up to selling at markets around Dalarna. Can anyone tell me where I can find some information on the rules and regulations. Among other queries I have, I particularly need answers to these question...
- What do home made products require, i.e. use by dates, list of all ingredients etc? Do they need to have any sort of stamp of approval? - Do I need to register myself as a business? I doubt I would the income to have to pay tax. - Should I be insured? - What's this about having to have a cash register? (this is the only info I have found so far) I would like to create a brand for my business and hopefully be recognised when I stand at markets so I want to make sure I am completely legal and safe! Any advice or links to advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you! |

loosely, you don't pay tax on income from a hobby.
you pay tax on it, when the scale of it takes it beyond a hobby! Slightly grey area, there are rules like if you turn over more than 440,000kr cash a year, you must have a cash register that is live linked SV etc. Say nothing, start up, if it works declare your profit in a few months time, keep all receipts for tax. Unless you are really hopeful and register with SV now. Plenty other threads here about business, registering for self employed tax status etc.. Your local council can probably help with the regulations too. |
