Hi
I came to Sweden last month (3rd March 2012) on work permit and registered with Skatteverket, got my person number almost 1 month ago (mid Mach). Now I want to apply for ID-Kort. I went to local Skatteverket and they gave me a fee receipt and address for the Servicekontoret. But I have read here in forum that we need to be living at our current address for 6 months. Is it really so? Do I have to wait for 6 months or should I pay the fee and try for it? Local Skatteverket office did not say anything about this. Any body here in forum can guide me in this case?
Thanks in Advance

This is not a rule I am aware of, when I moved here I got my ID card in a week. Mind you this was from Nordea back then.

However I would think this is no longer the case, I would go down to skatteverket and try they will tell you there and then if you can get it and then you decide to pay or not.

The information about the ID card is found at http://www.skatteverket.se/privat/idkort/i...9800039548.html in English. Having read it also in Swedish, I see no mention of how long you must have lived at your address, only that you need the ability to verify your identity and that you need to be registered and have a personnummer already. I don't think you have to wait.

No.
I came here on the beginning of March and I was told that ID card will make my life here way easier. So, I paid tax and applied. And after one week received a paper to collect my card.
