You will have to have a detailed business plan and show financial information including banking contacts. You must have the money in the bank to support yourself for two years in addition to that needed to run the business. The waiting time for this type of visa is now almost on year. If you quit your studies or student visa expires you will not be able to be in Sweden awaiting the decision. Best of luck.

Has nothing to do with Tax payments.

There are different requirements depending upon whether You are EU or non-EU?

If non-EU then one of the requirements is that You have run a business before and can demonstrate ability to run a company... You may not even pay any tax in the begining, the requirement for the visa you seek for non-EU requires that You already have enough funds to support yourself for 2 years, regardless of how much money your new venture may or may not make... plus a few other requirements like a realistic business plan etc...

You must show more than just progress. At the two year point your business must be fully functional and providing you with a living wage and the company itself must be profitable as well and tax revenue paid. You should have employees as it looks better.

If you are from the EU, then the requirements are different, slightly easier, but they do require proof that the business is viable, that you have experience and competence to run it etc...

They want to see what salary you make from the business in relation to your personal costs eg. home, kids etc... Basically, can you live off the business. In addition to that they want to see what the future business plan is, to ensure that it continues to be viable and that you can live from it.

During the time that You have the permit based upon your own business you are not allowed to work for any other employer. ie. the only job you can have is with your business. In addition to that, if you intend to bring any family members over, you must show that you have enough funds for 2 years for them also, and they will not be given permits that allow them to work, they have to find a job and then apply for a work permit.

Hi,
I want to apply for self employed in sweden. for this I have bought 50% of a fastfood shop that has run for about 6 years, and by now I have the documents of the registration from the bolagsverket by my name.
I have 2 questions to ask and I will be very thankful to you if you can guide me in this case.
The company's accountant sent me the Balansrapport and the Resultatrapport of 2012 and the foresight of the company for 2013 and her business card for the probable questions (that the migrationsverket may want to ask), I want to know:
1-Do I need any business plan to enclose?(in case of the job that is run by now and has income and pay tax by my name)
2-And do I need to show that I have personal funds adequate to support myself during first tow years in Sweden? (again because the job is running)
Thanks.
