Greetings,

My wife and I are thinking about visiting Stockholm as a part of our honeymoon this coming June. We are also planning on visiting Oslo and western Norway. We are both Americans, living in Madison Wisconsin, and have never been to Europe. Does anyone have any suggestions and advise about visiting Stockholm or Norway? I would greatly appreciate information about local restaurants to eat at that are off the beaten path for most tourists. Meal suggestions are also welcomed as we are not entirely familiar with the cuisines there.

Thank you!

Ello Hollie!

A general advise I`d like to give is that you should just relaxe and enjoy your stay. If you are visiting during the 6th of June then there might be a lot of swedish flags around since it`s the national day of Sweden.

If you visit during the 21st of June then the city might be empty since it`s Midsummer;

Most spend it on the countryside or on some island somewhere;

If you want fine dining then there are a few places to visit, but you should probably reserve a table;

If you want to visit some more local joints there are a few suggestions, the contact info and adress is at the bottom of the sites;

You could also try a swedish dish at one of the hot dog stand, Tunnbrödrulle;

Hopefully you will enjoy your visit on your first trip to Europe and Scandinavia.
