It was quite interesting today, as I found 2 stories from separate places that tie together with each other but from different perspectives relating to Sweden.

The first story was from a serbian website which talks about Sweden's push to re-introduce visas.

The second story was from Canada, and talks about syrian refugees :

And exactly how do they tie together?... Syrians are welcomed because they are asylum seekers escaping from a war ongoing in their country, Serbians are not!

Serbians are coming because they do not need to apply for a visa beforehand and they are being misinformed by various parties (travel companies) that they can get asylum in Sweden ...which is not true. The influx has been so great for these so-called economic refugees, asylum process is not for them, and they have been lied to in their own country, especially by travel companies charging them for trips here!!! Sweden cannot formally ask the EU to re-impose visa restrictions for Serbian because it was the fool Carl Bildt that pushed extremely hard to have the visa requirement removed, trying to look like a nice-guy without heeding the advice from many groups of the consequences ...which Sweden is now paying for :S ...so it has to indirectly/informally get the other Member States to try and make the change so that visas are required and border controls applied.

Exactly biggrin.gif ...as I said, Sweden cannot be seen to be the ones pushing for the re-introduction of visa requirements for Serbia, since it was Fool Bildt that originally pushed for the visa-free situation. It would be too embarrassing politically to do so wink.gif... but in the background recently they have been pushing the other Member States to raise the issue and request suspension of visa-free travel. Which, I would guestimate, Sweden would implement quite quickly because it comes as an EU measure and not a Swedish initiative!

I don`t doubt that life can be though in Serbia, especially for minorities, but it`s not as bad as it is in Syria. They don`t have bullets or rockets flying over their heads. Having a hard time to find a job or wealth isn`t a reason for asylum, no matter what human traffickers might say. There are numerous myths about Sweden and people in need are desperate enough to belive them. Sweden should help those with real asylum needs, not those that just seek a wealthier living.

But as said in the article, Sweden get`s about the same number of asylum applicants as Germany or countries like France. They are millions more but Sweden pulls the same amount of work as they do. It`s Swedens politicans fault for allowing this and now they have to face the consequences. It`s not only a stress on the finances but also a stress on the Swedes trust in some asulym seekers, refugees and certain immigrant groups who take to crime to get what they want when they notice that the myths aren`t true.

Does anybody apply for asylum in England?

Is it only Sweden that these people go to?

Any EU countries take more refugees than Sweden?

I include "economic" refugees in this query.
