Talk with Migrationsverket, Sweden is much more lenient than most countries when it comes to Family Re-Uninification.
They are used to it, in the vast majority of cases 1 parent comes first, gets permanent residency, then the other members of the family follow. It is normally straight forward... unless You are from Somalia, then it is tougher, mainly because there is no real government, no real documentation, and Sweden does not accept their passports. |

Open www.migrationsverket.se -> click moving to someone in sweden
There it is explained quite well. Afaik, you can bring your child if he/she is not adult age, and/or dependent on you. But you can read more in detail on the website. |

However, be prepared, because technically they can withdraw Your current permit, since they can state it was granted on false information.
...however, as I said earlier, they are more lenient in sweden, and have a tendancy not to withdrwa permits nowadays |

It will depend on age and current living arrangements - permission from the mother etc
You cannot register him if he is over 18 Given that you didn't mention a child at the time - he may be subject to DNA testing to ensure that you are the father |

+ you may need to explain why it is important for your child to live in Sweden having neither mentioned him nor lived together for almost 5 years
