Aaahh.. the Brits are obsessed with toplessness, probably still living by Victorian moral standards. Such a double standard, when they have page 3 girls. A woman is a woman, no matter if she is aprincess or a commoner.

1 tiny wee flaw; the pics were taken by a French woman and publishing interest seems to lie with the French, Italian and Irish press.
I believe the British press aren't touching them (the photos that is) ? ps. If they were living by Victorian moral standards, then you my dear would not be working in London, your place would be at home in the Kitchen. |

> I am referring to the publishing and taking of the pictures...
No you are not. You would never ever know of this if the world's other media had not advertised this fact. If all the outlets that are outraged had kept stum then nobody (albiet from a few French) would have seen these pictures. They are all scum. Until the day that such invasions of privacy become "non-stories" there will be a high value and therefore need for such photos. Exactly the same with Salmon Rushdie's book, the recent anti-muslims film, "Lady Chatterley's lovers" etc. All made much more popular by their opponents drawing more attention and creating an attention that would have costs billions of billions in marketing. Lesson to keep stum if you don't like something. Even your post has probably informed some people who did not know these Kate pictures existed. |

OK!
Again...it is you and I...it's US! WE the public, that buys papers to see pictures of this kind...why can't you/WE admit it...WE are guilty of fueling this kind of behaviour...If WE stop buying publications that print this stuff...it will all go away...c'mon admit it, the lives of people are so degenerate they thrive on the "trash" that is given to us by...trashy...publications...who can blame anyone else? Doesn't WE seem to be what gives life to the continuation of this "trash"? |

I agree that a woman is a woman regardless of title, creed or 'status'. However the major flaw in your reasoning is that a Page 3 girl gave consent to have her tits flashed all over the page... Indeed she gets paid for it. Kate and for that matter any other woman whose privacy is violated by snapping pics from more than half a mile away with a long distance lens have given NO consent. Therein lies the difference. |

Didn't one of the Swedish royals (prince something or other) get a slapping down in the south of France a while back while outside a casino (nice way to use the public cash purse BTW) - where a mobile phone recorded the incident since it was in a public area? And this initself was uploaded to YouTube, but much of the discussion was whether it had been purpously edited.
Public space is one thing, and Private space is another. If a photographer is unable to see his subject with the naked eye and has to use specialist equipment to gain access to private space, then clearly there is a violation. But if a royal, was to act out of line and was subsequently documented in a public area ... Then that in itself is in the public good. The only grey area is when a dirty royal is caught by hidden cameras. Say the Swedish king had been filmed with prostitutes or strippers ... While private, it still makes him a criminal in his own country. Then this is in the public interest. (same as fergie trying to take a bung) |

QUOTE ps. If they were living by Victorian moral standards, then you my dear would not be working in London, your place would be at home in the Kitchen. Which in Klubbsandwich's case would probably be the best place for her. Certainly nowhere near a computer with internet access in any case. |

Agreed.
If Middleton was on a public beach going topless then I would say she is fair game to Paps or anyone else who wants to take pictures. What next, a long distance picture through the keyhole of a bedroom door? Just because the technology exists to take such pictures (even if the picture is taken from a public area) does not mean that the victim has no right to privacy. It is akin to someone following women with a camera hidden in their shoe to take pictures up their skirts (actually happened a few months back in Seattle). The lady was in a public area and the pervert technically did not break any laws in that he was only taking pics of what was on view to the general public (so long as they had the necessary technology to do so). He was still charged with invasion of privacy or some such. Same concept applies here. |

Can't imagine anyone wanting to take a picture of clubknickers, dressed or otherwise, it would doubtless crack the lens. A real sourpuss if ever there was one.
