Postman not leaving notes

Anyone know why?

I wonder if anyone knows why this might be...every time I get a package in the mail these days and I'm not there to pick it up, the postman never leaves a note any more and I have to go to the post office and search for it myself with a tracking number. I'm not sure, but I think it might only be with tracked parcels that this happens. I always used to get notes in the past though. Does anyone know what's going...do they stop leaving notes in summer for some reason? haha

Also most of my packets come from the UK, if that's any help.

They should leave notes. Have you recently been given a "lgh" number. Until recently hundreds of families had identical addresses in Sweden. The address Storgatan 4 could in extreme cases contain 200 flats with 17 Sven Svenssons and 24 Anders Anderssons who always get each others post by mistake. The police would break down doors and nick the wrong people. Criminals could knock on the door and kneecap the wrong person in drug crime. This could not continue. So they relabelled 2.6 million flats. It is no longer good enough to say "Sven Svensson, Storgatan, 4", the address is now Storgatan 41203, which is made up of a code to identify the flat. National door numbers are always lower towards Stockholm or the local town centre. Try telling people to put your lgh number on and see if that works.

I've had the same problem three times now, all from the UK and have had to be given refunds by companies I have ordered from after my parcels were returned.

I live in a house, so surely there shouldnt be a problem?

Ours still leaves the little "pick up" slips - however these days you can opt to get SMS notification for many packages from Swedish companies

Yeah I do have a lgh number, and I always tell people to put it down and add it myself when I order stuff online. So there's no way anyone else could get my mail. Glad to hear I'm not the only one with the problem. I've also had to get refunds a couple of times. It's getting annoying, and I recently got sent a package without a tracking number. If I don't get a note for that, is there any other way I can look for it?

They seem to be doing both. I get sms's from them to appear at my local ICA. I then get a slip of paper from the post office a WEEK later. The kid at the ICA says "Get used to this. Swedish postal service is the worst"

Like staycold I order plenty from the UK. I now have to ask my suppliers to please advise me the date they sent a package so I can be ready for it.

Unlike a package which sat at ICA for 30 days because no one bothered with an sms or a slip of paper.

I ordered something from a Swedish company, got the slip, wet to collect it and ICA said no we dont have it. Checked the tracking and it said they did. Rung the supplier and they checked and said posten seem to have lost it, we send another. Then, same procedure, slip no parcel, WTF !! . Then a call from the main sorting office, we have two parcels for you !! It seems that the package was to long to go into the little car so they just leave it behind, but the tracking says its gone. Worse than Parcel Farce in the UK.

It is probably a case that the postman can read, but not write, hence no note - - -

But seriously, over here on the west coast, the Post sends us a letter telling of something to be collected, after a certain time of day, and lo and behold - all is in order. Could this be a city phenomenon? I live outside a large village, and there is never a problem.
With carriers, it is even less of a problem, too. They simply ring to check we are at home, and Knock, Knock! They are at the door. Even from the UK.

I wish. This has only started since the sms'. Before that, no problems at all. Slip in the mailbox, come after 1600, all's well.

I wonder just how much stuff is disappearing?

Could be a summer phenomenon since pretty much the whole Posten organization consists of high school and college kids during the summers...
