Best of luck to you. Without job skills and the ability to speak Swedish you will find it very difficult to find any job. There are thousands of people looking for unskilled work many of whom are on a government jobs program which will pay up to 85% of their salary. As your English is poor this will not help matters. The best thing would be to finish school in IT, get some experience in your home county and learn Swedish and try to network. Bring enough money to survive for one year without a job and always have a ticket back home.

Average salary before tax for a cleaner is around 19.000 SEK per month, and for bar/restaurant 22.000 SEK per month. However, those statistics are only based upon legitimate employers and reported salaries to the tax office. There is a lot that goes unreported, that are often much lower, and for those reported it is possible there are additional payments made that also aren't reported.
There are no minimum wage laws in Sweden, unlike in many EU countries, any minimums are normally agreed between employers and Unions ... if they have a union agreement. You sound Young?, Youth unemployment in Sweden is around 25%, and much much higher amongst migrants. The largest employer, so to speak, in Sweden is actually FAS-3, which is a government program that pays employers to give temporary jobs to long term unemployed, in order to get back work experience (You would not qualify for this) If you come to Sweden as a job seeker, you can stay for 3 months without registering, and if you are receiving any unemployment benefit from your home country, you will need to go to the Arbetsförmedlingen (job center) and register as an EU Job Seeker, that way your benefits from home will most likely be continued. Here is a portal run by Arbetsförmedlingen for job seekers www.platsbanken.se |
