What's your weekly food bill?

And how many are you feeding?

We pay around £80 / week for two in the UK, and that's by shopping at Waitrose and Sainsbury's. Waitrose for meat, fish and veg (better quality) and everything else at Sainsbury's. We pay around the same in ICA in Sweden for more or less the same type of goods. One difference is that we tend to eat less meat and more fish in Sweden. Also, buying "speciality" ingredients in Sweden is more expensive than in the UK.

Not at all, I can't stand baked beans

I love baked beans and it is about a two day project to make them myself. So I don't do it that often. But they are yummy!

We are a family of 5 (youngest being 12) and we spend about 1k a week and eat very well. Although I tend to buy bulk on sales and own a deep freezer, so the 1k isn't always what we are eating that week. I do make most things from scratch including all breads and jams and jellies and such. I've picked up stuff to make even our own nutella and peanut butter since I'm sick of the prices for those too. smile.gif

Wouldn't buying the ingredients be MORE expensive than the jar of nutella? If not, please feel free to share the recipe biggrin.gif

Next time you fly, just get one of those enormous jars at the airport. I saw a 4kg one at Rome Ciampino ariport last month That should keep you busy for a while biggrin.gif

People live different lives. It amazes me that there are so many people in Sweden who are revolted by peanut butter. As for myself I actually have favorite types of peanut butter and like different ones at different times.

Yum, but that got me thinking about the 910g jars of Vegemite that I would purchase from an exporter in Texas.

Mm, I should do this. It's my go-to snack straight from the jar. Yes, I'm a pig. laugh.gif
