Nice video...but now I'm thinking it was a training film to aid the British in criminal activities in Sweden and Britain too...I only say this because there are no criminals native born to Sweden.

Swedes never break the law.

Swedes are fascinated by British criminality and brazenness that's why they watched your man do his thing...sort of attraction to an accident or other bad things...I bet there was a story or two told by them when they got home...the gist of it being about British bicycle thieves!

You may put that in your pipe and smoke it! cool.gif

It is like that in many places, including Stockholm. (for others not watching, video is from London). Actually kudos to the London police for tackling this.

I've got 2 locks on my bike. 1 heavy duty Kryptonite chain (not the one in the video) and a Abus lock that I lock the front wheel to the frame with. The sad fact is, that if someone is allowed to work on them for a short period of time, they'll force them open.

It's a sad fact, better locks are made and the bad guys find ways to get around them...no matter where they are...I guess the best way is...if you are afraid of losing something take it with you...and that is just about impossible!

When I was younger I left a cheap flashlight in my '57 Chevy convertible...and naturally they slashed the top to get it...the repairs to the top were a really big expense...Damn I was broke for a long time!

Never left anything in sight in a car since...tough lesson!

Possibly an insurance plan would be a good idea...if?

Never mind stealing the bike, he was using public utilities illegally, to get electricity for his grinder...the fiend! laugh.gif

Would you confront a person doing this?

I doubt that?

You would rather play phony videos...to get attention!

Gee, the videos are not the point... The question is why are people so afraid to intervene here in Sweden, everywhere else in the world someone would have stopped the thief or asked what they were doing, or at the very least called the authorities!! This is obviously a typical Swedish mentality...

It's about risk-reward ratio. I didn't stop a guy pocketing bottles in the shop the other day because either:

- I get hurt and he gets away
- He gets hurt and I get charged with assault

Ask Rick on this board what can happen when you do interfere...

Is there an interesting story about "Rick"?

Did it go awry? Assuming from your post he acted and is now sorry for it.

Can we hear the story?
