Hi,
I wonder if someone can help out us or just confirm the information we have collected so far. My fiancé will move to Sweden in October as a job-seeker. He is an engineer (EU-citizen) but was unable to find a job from abroad. We know he will have to go to Migrationsverket for registration but it is not possible until he find a job. And he can stay around for 6 months in the absence of registration. Certainly if he cannot find a job he won't stay any more. Without registration he cannot have a personnummer from Skatteverket, am I right? In this case he would apply for a coordination number (samordningsnummer). As we found out this number is efficient for people without registration and have all of the function of personnummer but valid temporarily. The question is, does he need S1 or EHIC or anything else like private health insurance? Does he need a new passport with biometric chip or the personal ID-card is enough for identify himself? Do you know any more condition regarding coordination number? We only found a broshure on Skatteverket's website which is about how and what the numbers are consist of. Nothing about what type of documentation is needed since you don't have registration. Thanks in advance! |

As I understand it, He cannot register with Skatteverket at-all since He is a job seeker, and only allowed to stay in Sweden for 6 months. It doesn't matter whether He is registered with Migrationsverket or not.
Co-ordination numbers are, in theory, only issued by Skatteverket if an ID number is required by another authority for that person. He should look to arrange that his unemployment benefit is transfered to Sweden, and register as a job seeker with Arbetsförmedlingen. |

And another thing he is planning to start an entrepreneurship until he finds a job. He is also a professional musician and sound engineer so he could do some recording, mastering and teaching stuff. According to Verksamt one can apply for coordination number first then apply for F-tax then when the business running can apply for PN.
Can it be a solution? |

My fiancé will move to Sweden in October as a job-seeker. If he is your fiance, then one assumes that means it is a serious relationship, so it should be absolutely no problem to just apply for the Sambo permit, without having to go through all this messing around using teh Right of Residence. Once approved, then he will get the PN straight away. Or maybe neither of You are in Sweden? |
