Can I work with my student visa?

Can I get employed by having residency card?

Hi,

I extended my student visa and got this reddish residency card. I am offered a job in a company and wondering whether I can work on the basis of my residency card or I will need some extra permissions to start working?

You are free to work with no limits on the number of hours, etc as long as your residence card is still valid.

It is however expected that you are still studying to maintain your student status, however, in reality no one checks this.

When you have finished studying, then you can apply for a work permit, if you have been offered a permanent job then why not go ahead and apply for a work permit straight away, thereby accumulating time towards a PUT.
