Hi, many thanks in advance for any help.
I am an english speaker and may be visiting Götaland soon for a certain event and was wondering how much English is generally spoken by people in this region. Do people hate you for not being able to speak any of their own language (I'm looking at you, France) and do you think things like geting a taxi and talking to people in shops will be a massive problem if I have no grasp of the language? Again, many thanks for any type of answers you can give! |

Most people speak a little bit of English, so you'll be fine. And no, people won't hate you for not speaking Swedish.
Mind you, learning how to say hello and thank you in the local language never hurts in any country. Good luck and have fun! |

Thanks a lot for the responses, I will look as touristy as possible then, and yes I will try to learn some phrases, saying them awkwardly is always a nice icebreaker!
Tacka again |
