Maybe some Localers can help with this question:
If I sell my apartment (which I hope to make a very small profit from) am I liable to pay tax if I put that profit towards the cost of buying a new property in Sweden if the new property - costs less than the previous one - costs more than the profit from the previous one Many thanks, as always |

You will have to pay tax on the profit. You must do so in any case but can postpone the tax until later if buying a more expensive home.

You pay 0.5% on the deferred profit each year. Remember that you can reduce your profit by any costs for improving your home .ie. Building a new bathroom, cost of selling etc.
