It's a curious one, as we asked about this and a few other sidelines we have. Clearly bees produce honey and unless you give it away, you have an income. It could be argued its a deliberate venture, I agree, but also a byproduct that you need to dispose and after other expenses you make a small profit. Obviously if you scale things up, then its clearly a business not a hobby. But the opposite seems to also apply that I cant claim against the costs of any equipment or the moms back on it.

If you actually send invoices it sounds to me like it is more advanced than "hobby income" since it could violate the non-profit principle so you should check it up.

Well, I don't know how it works in Sweden otherwise - how would you make an income from a hobby where someone pays you money but cannot ask for an invoice/receipt? If you happen to sell some of your hobby honey to a restaurant, for instance, wouldn't the restaurant also want a receipt? In principle, my income would be very similar to what the blogger in the link above described how he is earning money. It just so happens that Google does not require you to write them an invoice (as everything runs through their system). I guess it makes most sense to ask SV. If I send a question via e-mail to Skatteverket to ask about how it would be treated, would they be liable for the information they provide? |
