Hi all,
I'm moving to Sweden next week and currently hold a category A UK motorcycle licence, which authorises me to drive motorcycles up to 125cc. I will be moving to Sweden temporarily for a year, with the possibility of staying there permanently after this period. I already have a job and accommodation arranged. A couple of questions...: 1) Can I use my motorcycle licence in Sweden? I have checked both the DVLA and the Swedish Board of Transport websites but can't find anything relevant. I also phoned the Swedish Board of Transport but my Swedish is so poor that I couldn't hold a conversation to establish any information regarding this. 2) Am I able to buy a bike out there as I will be on a temporary living permit until I (potentially) apply for a permanent one next year? 3) Slightly off subject - I will be living in rented accommodation, will I have trouble sorting out an internet connection if I am not a permanent resident, or don't have a credit history in Sweden? Thanks in advance! Becca |

Internet and other subscriptions, some companies want personnummer (personal number) which you should try to get from skatteverket (tax office). Some internet companies will let you subscribe even without personnummer but not all.
Getting loan can be problem, but if you have the money then you can buy whatever you like. Your license should be valid in all EU. You can exchange it with a Swedish one, but you don't need to unless you it is going to expire soon. |
