Hi all,
I am paying 12000 SEK per month for a 36m2 furnished apartment on Karlaplan, excluding insurance, electricity and internet/TV. In the beginning I thought this was just the general price level, but lately several people have told me that I am paying way too much. What's your take on this? Also, is there anything I can do about it? Just to add, I am renting from a private person. Thanks alot. Best regards, Nic |

With andra hand there are no standard prices. You basically pay what the owner desires, and that's why I hate the idea of second hand in Stockholm.
If you are able to pay that much for this little space then you might want to move to somewhere bigger. |

The above poster is NOT correct! You can only be charged the going rate ie about the same price of the first hand contract or you can get back the money you were overcharged.

@johnjohn, as what you are refering to might be some sort of guideline for second hand renting maybe. I am not sure. I haven't checked to see if it's true or not.
But the truth is that it is not what is happening in reality! People DO charge however they choose to. Most of them never get caught though. |

Search this topic in this forum. You cannot charge much more than the first hand price, 10% if furnished or about the going price in the area, first hand. Unsure of the agency to report to however they will investigate and insure a refund as well as report 1st hand renter. Worth searching. Wait for experienced posters like Yorkshire man or Puffin as this topic is often covered. The OP should first find out what 1st hand tenet pays as 12000 sounds rather steep. The reality is the renter CAN and most likely WILL get money back if overcharged.

You are paying too much...substantially too much. You need to refer it to Hyresnämnden if that is what you want to do.
Information can be found here. Needless to say you will very popular with your landlord http://www.hyresnamnden.se/Amnesomraden/Sk...r-hyresnamnden/ |
