I'm going to stockholm next weekend for a city break. I'll be sightseeing on my own during the day but is it uncommon or unusual in stockholm to be eating on my own at restaurants or at a bar? I was just wondering if it's looked upon strangely or if I'd even be seated as 1 person. I was also hoping to experience some nightlife.Would it look odd if i was on my own at clubs? or actually, would I even be allowed in? Not sure how it works in stureplan. Do I just stand in line and pay a cover charge? What time should I start to go out and how much are cover charges usually? Any advice would be appreciated as I haven't got a clue! I am staying at a hotel that's walking distance from stureplan so it would be a shame if I didn't go out even if it's on my own unfortunately. I am 25+ so i know age won't be an issue getting in.

Going to eat by yourself during the day is not uncommon or strange. You could be on your lunchbreak for all we know! During the evening a few might give you a look but that`s all you are going to get. If anything people will think it`s a shame that a young, beautiful woman is sitting by herself! But mostly everyone won`t care, respect your privacy and focus on their own meals.
To go clubbing alone is no issue, you will get in no problems. If anything you can just say that you have friends waiting inside. Stureplan works that you stand in line and when it`s your turn you get in. Once inside the hallway you arrive at a cashier who probably want around 100 SEK and then you can drop of your coat nearby. Have a good time in Stockholm! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5RuPLgpFoc |
