Hej, I am from Northampton in England. I'm English but my sambo and kids are Swedish. We are all moving from Göteborg up near to Östersund in August.
Ive been a bit slow to integrate and learn Swedish... so always nice to meet up with English people for a cuppa tea and not have to worry about my crappy Swedish for a little while! |

Hi,
Im 26 and looking to move to östersund with my swedish girlfriend. I have been there a few times now but only to visit (holiday). In the uk im a fully quallified domestic gas engineer however understand there isn't much call for this in östersund. I dont speak swedish yet but will be learning whilst living there. Is there much work there for only english speakers and does anyone know of any open vacancies anywhere? Im open for any offers? Many thanks Mitch |

Been here 3 years so far and I still cant find work, but I also don't speak much Swedish yet.I don't know but maybe you could find work in air con or refrigeration sectors. Really your best bet is to learn Swedish before you get here and to sign on with the job center BEFORE you leave. Wish i had.

Hi
Wondering if any of you English people in/near Ostersund meet up? I've been here a while but haven't learnt much Swedish yet so would like to meet up some time. |

English speaking is fine :-) I wasn't meaning to exclude anyone :-)
I actually live in Hammerdal but if anyone fancy's meeting for a coffee/beer in Ostersund on the 2nd during the afternoon that would be good for me. Or another time if thats no good for anyone else. (I've got a family thing I can't get out of next weekend.) |
