Having said confidently that discshop.se would post DVDs, I find that the b...s having e-mailed me a 50kr voucher will only deliver now in Sweden and need a personnummer. So I'm b....d.
With Coop, OnOff, Ikea et al only having the latest releases plus big boxes of old hits, I searched out Hemmakväll on the internet. These look convenient for when I drive up from Malmö in 2 weeks having shops in towns up the coast. Their in-stock lists from their web site look very promising. Without saying more about my appalling taste in Swedish thrillers films, they have 2 boxed sets just out that appeal. Can anyone say if they are a chain that might approach what we are used to in the UK ie HMV et al ? Or is there anywhere else ? |

In Sweden you could try www.cdon.com I have used them in the UK and now here with no problems.
Another I used in the UK was www.cdwow.com they are in hong kong but ship all over the globe free of charge. Have not ordered anything from them since I moved to sweden as I mostly use cdon and still order stuff from www.Amazon.co.uk with no probs either. |

My simple request is - where do you find a decent DVD shop to visit and buy DVDs (not CDs ) in Sweden (outside Gothenburg and Stockholm) ?

My experience:
There are a few small shops that have a limited DVD supply - there are no shops that have the numbers that HMV or Zavvi (Virgin) have. |

Don't bother buying dvds here,
1 they charge delivery! 2 the titles are in swedish! buy from www.play.com they deliver to sweden from the uk free of charge (so long as you change the currency to Euro's by clicking on the euro flag) 1. Play post to your door in around 4 days and not to the post office 2. Massive choice 3. titles in english they deliver books to sweden too, also free of charge but not electronics. |

Very strangely this topic appears resurrected with a posting apparently by Kevin_p last night that is then not visible. Look down last nights postings and he has made invisible posts to 2 other topics !
Anyway, since I started it. I originally solved my own request by finding skivbolaget, whose both stock range and prices were keen. Sadly shops in Helsingborg and Halmstad have gone. And Hemmakväll are pretty disappointing, being mainly rental shops. But discshop.se do now send abroad for 100kr postage (!!) and without a pn. And I have used them to send to our Swedish cottage, and have had good fast service. Dont know why I put Ikea in my first post |

Don't know if it helps, but there is a shop in Stockholm that i would describe as a cult DVD store.
They are a small store, but dedicated to DVD's. They ship worldwide also. http://subdvd.com/ |
