Pretty funny reading all these comments. You can definately pick out the swedes here.

I think these comments sum it up in my eyes, Alot of people (predominantly Swedish) people will judge you and give you s#&t for your views, but then others are more willing to help or accept your situation.

Pick your friends carefully tho...they are easy enough to find.

Fark those judgemental swedes tho, we dont give you s&#t for eating rotten fish (peasants) but they are happy to criticise for smoking. Culture is a beautiful thing!!

I wonder if this is how people react in Saudi/Kuwait/etc when we complain about them not selling alchohol in their countries?

If this is what he does for recreation, why shouldn't he be concerned? I don't smoke, but I think it should be up to the individual whether they do this type of thing, not the gov't.

Yeah, Swedes in London are always saying things like 'why can't we find property without damp on the walls, why is there no good furniture, why can't we find an area without stabbings and crack-whores' etc etc. Do we start having a go at them? No! We just say 'shut the fu*k up and smoke some of this'.

Remember, Smelly fish is a custom that we learn to accept when we come here, its not my 'cup of tea' but Im not gonna be sarcastic or abusive towards you if ya do??

Why be so insulting to weed smokers?? Sure its illegal, but its peoples own choice!

Some people need to open their eyes a little, stop being so judgemental...I bet we all do something thats not 'socially accepted'

so, im moving to sweden next year for school, and in california marijuana is used for medical purposes...and i use marijuana regularly. i guess my question is, how is weed viewed? cause i know here soooo many people use it recreationally despite it still being illegal. i mean i dont know anyone really who doesnt blaze. so im kinda hoping thats how it will be in sweden, but i really dont know so i just wanted to have input from people who live there. i really appreciate any information cause its gonna be one tough year away from california if i cant blaze
thnx 8)

you are looking at a possible prison time if caught with those.

netherlands is the country where you should go studying or perhaps drive north to BC Canada.

Good luck with making a useful contribution to the human race, by the way!!

Would you please explain how a personal decision/choice as such can spoil the entire human race? Or you're just the typical judgemental guy next door?

Its official - an American has shown up in the forum that is less intelligent than George W Bush.

I have several friends that do smoke weed...but none are this damaged.

I don't like drugs, don't particularly like drunk people and hate cigarettes. Does that make me judgemental? No, each to their own, but I don't want to do drugs myself and it does not make me weird.

I find the American double standards quite funny. When I say American and double standards I mean the way many (not all) Americans talk about marijuana as if it's the best thing in the world, while at the same time their government put those who get caught in prison. Plus on telly it seems like anyone who smokes pot is a drug addict and must be cured by Dr Phil. Atleast in Sweden we're consistent.

Is that not another way of saying they don't all do exactly what they're told to do - following like sheep?

No it's not. It means that their government is all ohhhh we don't support pot and it's illegal and noone is allowed to smoke it, while at the same time they all smoke in the closet! Even the guys in power!

Clinton!!

Swedes don't generally think pot is a good idea and they are honest about it.

Other Swedes think it should be legal.

I wonder if there is a survey on pot lovers in Sweden? Like how many would want it to be legal vs the ones who don't?

I think it's slightly odd to say that people who smoke pot in the US are hypocrites because some people in their government who publically criticise it may or may not smoke it themselves.

I think if there was a survey in the US on the matter it would also come out against.

Really? I reckon most Americans have tried it. Maybe it's a Middle America thing vs east and west cost thing?

Of course it is.

I bet you've tried it! And if not, don't knock it! To be honest I don't smoke it myself (I did a bit when I was younger), but see it as much less of a problem than alcohol, which is the cause of a ridiculous percentage of crime, especially in this country.

Not that I'm calling for a ban on alcohol - I want that on record!!

That is a bit odd. Like saying American gays are hypocritical because the odd politician rails against homosexuality before being uncovered as a secret bumlover of young chaps.
