I am curious about things like...What is Sweden famous for?? I am looking for answers which tell me about a 'thing' or an 'item' that Sweden is known for...because, if possible, I will take that 'item' as a gift for my family and friends.

Just out of curiosity, I have another question....what comes to your mind when you think of Sweden??

Swedish Glass is the first thing that comes to mind. Thats world famous with some very well known companies and designers. A Dala Horse is a typical tourist gift. They come in all sizes and can be quite pricy. Depends who the present is for.

A sensible, middle-rank power which learned its lessons during the absolute state wars on the 18th century, culminating in the Napoleonic ones.

Then it became a promoter of peace, avoiding the European blood baths by all means possible - i.e., trading with the destructive powers to keep itself going while trying to get them to end their hostilities and starting new ones.

The fact that Sweden has avoided all wars during this time, even when Russia attacked it during the Crimean one, is its greatest achievement, and is the lesson for all others to learn.

I thought that the whole suicide thing was just an urban myth - I don't think that Sweden even features in the top 25 countries and well below countries such as
Russia
Hungary
Belgium
Finland
France
Switzerland
etc etc
