I am confused what to do now. Because, I will be soon unemployed. I am member of Alfakassan for 1 year exactly. Not one day more and not one day less. I am a member from 1 august and I will be unemployed on 31 july. It's exactly a coincidence. I think I would have been in trouble if I would have lost my job even a day earlier for example 30 july instead of 31 july
. I was unemployed for first 5 months and I got job and earned averagely between 20000 to 30000 sek for the last 7 months ( more than 168 000 sek before tax) (including for august I expect 24000 sek). Now will I get the maximum ersättning like 680 sek per day? any idea? Thanks for your coments. |

Im not swedish. Worked 7 months. Member a-kassa 8 months and started getting a-kassa money after that.
With the crisis the changed the rules and you just need to be 6 months member of a-kassa to get a-kassa money (hope they didnt change it back again) Think that you will aprox get salary you earned in the previous one year and then divide for 12 (in your case 7/12 and then around 80% of that is what you will get every month (before taxes). |

that was 2009, by 2010 it changed back to a year membership to qualifies for the A-Kassan. The MAX you can get only 14,000 kr before tax, after tax should be 10,000 kr approx |

If I was You I would check with the Union or Arbetsförmedlingen if You will be a member of the a-kassa from August.
Whilst the 6 months working in last 12 rule is correct, and during that 6 months You have to have worked a minimum of 80 hours per month. There used to be a qualifying period even at the start of membership, that actually is the pre-qualifier to becoming a member of a-kassa, during a continuous period of 5 weeks and you worked for at least 4 of those weeks with a minimum average of 17 hours per week whilst applying for membership. If You were out of work for the 1st 5 months when joining, there is a good chance that You actually have not qualified for the full a-kassa! Check! Most Unions offer extra insurance also, but Your working time does not qualify You for that payment as most schemes are expecting 18 months work before claiming. Basic a-kassa is 320 per day, and full income based is (80%) 680 per day, for the 1st 200 days then it drops to 70% for the next 100 days. and if You have kids total length is extended extended to +150 days = 450 days total. If You lost your job, ie. did not quit, then for the 1st 5 (or 10?) days You get paid absolutely nothing. You MUST be registered with Arbetsförmedlingen, they will tell the a-kassa You are seaking work ... and can tell them at anytime when they think You do not meet their job seeking requirements... So be prepared for them to start expecting You to travel for work, relocate and retrain... gone are the times when You could look for ages within Your own profession. |
