May i know if there are many Asian people in Sweden? (I think the number is a lot less then in other countries like UK and Germany)

Do you know what kind of jobs are they normally having in Sweden?

While it's hard to generalize, but do you guys know how the Swedes view those Asian people, especially from Hong Kong (if any).

There are a lot of Thais and Chinese here. Not a lot compared to other countries.

It really depends to the person on what they think about Asians.

Well alot of them are married to Swedes, or some are their children. Some own Thai/Chinese restaurants.

Not sure on the university student part. Are you coming here as a student?

I do know of a Chinese uni student who was studying in Japan, and came to visit his mom here. He said that he found the Swedes not as open as the Japanese. And I always thought people were super shy in Japan.

Are there any europeans in Sweden? Yes. And there's lots of asians too but it depends on what kind of asian you're talking about. Rich, well-educated Japanese and South Korean people? Or "thai wives" married to 60+ single men who appreciate a "loyal" woman? Or people from China?

Asia's a big place. And a decent 80's band.

What you have asked is just far too vague a question. I mean "Any Asian people in Sweden"?. Come on.

And while being almost as vague, a question about how a certain race are viewed by Swedes, sounds very odd, almost as if it were designed to inflame discussion on TL.

Maybe I'm being a little cynical, but if you're genuine, you'll reframe your question to make it sound more specific so people can help.

There are many people from Western Asia and South Asia in Sweden, but from Southeast Asia most of them are woman who came here with their Swedish husbands. While East Asians are either students at universities or work for multinational corporations.

In my experience, Swedes have very high thoughts of East Asians. This is a great contrast to the racism most non-whites are otherwise subjugated to. There are not that many East Asians in Sweden though.

There is no China Town in Sweden, but it is correct that there are many Chinese/Thai stores and restaurants concentrated on Norrmalm in Stockholm. There are quite a few such stores and restaurants found all over Sweden.

You would be wrong in that assumption.

At least if you compare the number to the indigenous population. The percentage of general Asians is every bit as high. Probably less Chinese and Pakistani but the larger number of Thai make up for that.
