(edit title) Legal advice on closure of local pool Options

Hi been around the traps for a while on The Local but a registered member now yeeeeeaaaahhhhh.
ops, (been around the traps is slang in Australian meaning been looking at the local for a while)

Anyway I was wondering if there is any hope of stoping the closure of the local pool by the kommun at the end of this year.
We got 522 people to sign a letter .522 out of a total of around 2000 in the district and many did not know (not in paper etc )and still
Kommun eyes and ears are shut.
I went to the komun and talked to them and just got the cannot help treatment .

The kids from 3 schools around here totaling 250+ go to the pool 2
times a month .

there is a pool 30 minutes away but the Kommun is not going to bus the
kids there 2 times a month ,they say maybe? 1time a month HA HA. pigs might fly also

I also go to the pool sauna for my back/muscle injury that I got
working for this Kommun ,do pool work and work on muscles in sauna .

but the main reason is for the kids the school says the kids might have
to stay at school longer on swimming day if they take the bus but the school has not been told anyhing .the kids
are stuffed now at the end of a day .

to go to the other pool it is going to take 2 +hr with changing clothes getting on bus tur- tur etc .if it happens now it takes 15 minutes .
also there is the enviroment aspect with the bus and all the parents driving those extra km .

I have got the costings of what they had to do to the pool from Kommun

Kommun said and wrote on kommun costing 900.000 for pool water cleansing machine
then they said to me no no its not whats on paper its 825.000.
rang pool water cleansing machine company on paper and got 745.000 .but they would not tell if it really needed it or not.
Komunn just wants to close it no mater what.

this Kommun gives 700.000 Kr + cleaning and power and parking costs
for a bowling ally each year which is in the new hotel in the kommun
.It has -1.7 million kr every year since it was built.

the Kommun would not give me that info saying that they are in talkes
about the contract with hotel .I got it anyway from someone else

Every X on the contract is going to cost the Kommun money if they
change the contract .

is there anybody that can help me with the law and how to
stop the closure of the pool .

how can I talk to a lawyer for free in sweden to find out what I can do .

I cannot afford to drive the 30 minutes to do the training in the pool etc and take the children for a swim.

also how legel aid workes in sweden.But I just want to talk to a lawer now .

Part of the process was a vote from the local (all from other town) polies and what do you think they voted .

well an update on the circus going on at the local pool .
the pool is shut but a local community company backed up by local companys is trying to buy the pool and run it private,but get this the Kommun will not sell the pool now .this pool has a fire station in a side building and they are now saying that they are going to build showers for the fire people in there.not one word of this info in all the newspaper writings and info given out .I am wondering what is the next trick that this FUSK KOMMUN is going to try .it is not going to cost them anything at all seeing the company is going to to pay all costs.
I am trying to get support for this company by putting a paper in mail boxes (200 so far ) and put the paper in shop windows etc .
we will see what happens

Sounds like you will have to build your own pool or go the AK-47 route. So, which one is it, your life or the pool ?

My advice would be
- lobby members of the council and in particular the ones making the decision to close/sell
- contact the local papers
- possibly contact the national tabloids such as Aftonbladet or Expressen - they love human interest stories and stupid bureaucratic decisions

I would not put it past them but perhaps a bigger brown bag .they give 750000 a year to a private hotel which has made -1.2 million from the first year it was built but will not keep the pool open for the swimming safety of the children and community .

yes the papers are the way to go .I have talked to the Kommun and pollies till I am blue in the face .
