You are so right, Ryanair have shaken up the whole business and forced the big boys to drop prices. Now if you have luggage it can be cheaper on SAS or BA some days, not others, depends where from, where to and the time and where you live and are going to. The whole point is that we now have so much choice and its all thanks to Ryanair, and lets be honest who would want to fly with them if they were not cheap !!!!!

The UK is set to be the first country to enact an EU law banning the excessive credit card charges applied by some online retailers and famously by Ryanair - £6 per flight per passenger, which Ryanair claim reflect their actual costs

To lighten up the whole affair and bring a Christmas smile to all those who have suffered at the hands of Ryanair here is a little story.

Michael O'Leary goes into a Dublin bar having by lured in by the banner outside saying 'Cheapest Guinness in Ireland - €1 a pint'. He then gets charged €3 for a glass and wants to sit down. The seat costs €6 but it is too small for him, so he has to pay a €4 surcharge for a bigger seat. Finally he wants to pay by credit card....but first has to join a queue which he can Q jump by paying another €2, just like everyone else so he doesn't move in the queue and when he gets to pay he has a €6 admin fee for using the card, with no option to pay by cash.

They will simply be relabelled as "payment administration charges" and thus not applicable to any new law banning the process of card payment levies.

Interestingly enough, the government department "DVLA" also charges a card processing fee.

The reason that the legislation is delayed is in order that all such possible loopholes can be outlawed or dealt with promptly as they arise.

There is also a follow up proposal to ensure that the price you see advertised is exactly the price you pay.

Much more sensible than the present shambles where you can even find add on charges after you booked.
