Hi
Still awaiting my Swedebank details but I need to pay for a season ticket for my local football team. They have said I can pay by Bankgiro and I have the number here. Trying to put the money in from a UK online Bank but they request a sort code. Any idea how I can find this? |

I dont think you are able to pay local company's invoice.
The best would be to ask your friends who lives in Sweden to pay it, and you pay him back. |

By "they" I presume you mean the UK bank. What they really want is the IBAN code for the Swedish bank account you wish to pay the money into. Once you have this number it should be straight forward. Ask the football club or have a look at the invoice.

Using Bankgiro in Sweden is a convenient means to transfer money, and is the normal way to pay, but you can only do it in Sweden. There is probably no reason for them not to give you their bank details so that you can have an IBAN for international transfer. Only beware that in Sweden different banks have different schemes for their account numbering as you will find when you come to arrange "autogiros", Swedish credit transfer permissions. Make a specific request to the club for their IBAN so that they can inform you correctly, if its not on any form you have - saves an expensive mistake. You probably know that IBAN transfers can cost the recipient unless you tick the box to pay all costs. Some organisations in Sweden I have found add on a bit to pay these costs for international transfers,
