I am a Scottish person living in Gothenburg . Looking to socialise with other Brits possibly or other English speaking people in a similar situation , looking to make friends in new surroundings.
I am a 20 year old guy, and i like a lot of music and playing guitar and having a ruddy good laugh at an English old pub. Drop a comment if you are interested. |

I can recommend hanging out in the Dubliners and 7:an olhallen. You will meet a lot of english speakers there who enjoy a bit of pub culture. Or the Dancing Dingo.

You are in gothenburg, probably the friendliest city in Sweden. It also probaby has the closest to the UK pub culture of the large swedish cities. So (if you can afford it of course) you just rock up to a bar and start mindless chit chat as you would do back in the UK. It works with swedes as well as english speakers in gothenburg. If you are interested in the music scene in gothenburg Andra Långgatan is very alternative and you might find some like minded people there in the cafes and bars.

Hi!
Don't get worried man...Coolbird is here! I have got same interest as you. I am singer, dancer and lyric writer. And, more is that I am personally an easy going personality. I like to talk in English comparing Swedish as my Swedish is very bad and for that sometimes I just feel myself as happens with the King in the Oscar winning movie 'King's Speech'...! PM me and you can send me all details of you and mention please when and where can be met. Take care! |

Didn't the Goatborg TL:ers use to meet up in a dodgy curry house that was the scene of a murder?

As far as I know we only met there once. The decor was pretty dodgy but the curry was decent. The late host was originally from the Leicester, the curry capital of the UK. His murder was real shame and a real tragedy.

The food there was acceptable we went their several times after that one Gothenburg thelocal.se gathering until the unfortunate murder of the proprietor.
Been doing take-out from Mother India. This summer we will endeavor to find a place that suits our taste. I would really like to find a place that makes great stuffed bread or Rogan Josh like the one that I drove outta my way for in Massachusetts on my way home from NYC to Vermont. |
