QUOTE (7 @ 27.Feb.2012, 10:47 AM) *
yet another demonstration of a pathetic need to go after a poster. but this is getting fun. we can start labeling posts/poster as streja fan club members hahaha! so who ar ... (show full quote)

Far from it, I made a simply post trying to shed some light on information that would appear to be misconstrued.
I think you will find there are much more posts from yourself and your 2 sidekicks looking to stir as of the past 24 hours.

If a poster makes any comment that is questionable or borders on a racial hatred statement, then being held to account for such by other members is only natural in an open forum. If any members know of the profession of any poster who has made such statements, it is not unusual for members to question said posters views in regards to occupation they are employed to do. Since these types of views could be used to mislead others through their profession.

But with the amount of replies and types of replies you have made in the past 124 hours, it's clealy apparent you are wanting to troll in the hopes of extending your keyboard warrior skills or strike up a debate to amuse your own bordom.

Well I am here now ... so how do you hope to pervert what has been written to fit your agenda?

bhahaha. what most excellent timing!

i was thinking of making up a list (and i think it's easy to come up with the first name or two wink.gif) but felt i had no need to name and shame as it goes against my general belief that we should not go after posters but the content of their messages. of course if their content is devoted to [streja]bashing, then we need to step up and voice that we don't tolerate personal attacks (as it goes in direct defiance to the terms and conditions on the local.)

Sorry byke, but these British immigrant attacking Streja lack any knowledge of how discussion should be conducted. Personal attacks are not a part of a civilised discussion. Nor insults, name-calling or misogynistic comments.

To judge by their language and the way of replying, they must be of that type of Brits whose favourite newspaper is The Sun.

Hmm. Not strictly true. If someone such as yourself displays elements of their personality which are offensive then it is perfectly acceptable to attack them for it.

Take yourself for example. Since you joined this forum a month ago, you have made a more than a few "troll-posts" as well as being exposed as a liar earlier in this post and generally being rather unpleasant. As a result it is personally acceptable to attack you personally both in terms of your honesty as well as your intentions in posting here. It is however probably unfair to attack you because of your gender. You are not stupid because you are (or rather claim to be) a woman... you're just stupid.

As for the name calling! Well you can take them as a bonus...

@Everyone else..

Anyway, personally I couldn't care less what other people's culinary opinions are of Fish and Chips. I happen to like it but if anyone else doesn't and wishes to say so then that's fine by me.

As for Streja? Well I love her even if I don't always agree with her. Although she isn't a patch on my favourite - Double Oh - however, who I have even stared having erotic dreams about wink.gif Oh my darling Double Oh, let us be together from now until eternity...

oh my. we're escalating from the virtually virtual virtual [now getting indecent] proposal LOL

and i must torture you with disagreeing that attacking a person is ever ok. now that doesn't mean you can't call a spade a spade (oh my, i hope no one takes that as some very loose racist innuendo) but i do miss the art of very subtly calling someone stupid or incompetent without needing to use the words literally...implications and providing opportunities for the posters themselves to demonstrate said traits is so much more sportsmanlike (and fun)

I agree with you (as if I ever could not oh thrice numeric apple of my eye). In an ideal world all trolls would be dealt with with subtle finesse but this isn't an ideal world and sometimes one finds that the blunt club of insult is more effective than the fine needle of irony. This is especially true in this case where the application of fine needle passes way over the head of the intended target. Better to use the club and get straight and unambiguously to the point.

Snood talks about Jamie Olivers ‘american’ measurements. I think he will find that such measurements are typical good old British ones. Oh yes, and someone from Glasgow is a Glaswegian.

Mångk thinks that the rest of the world has a decent taste regarding what is put onto the fish ‘n chips, well that can also be questioned. Unless he has been all over the rest of the world, which I doubt.

I just love noll noll sieben’s idea of intellectually stimulating debate. “i think she was having her period and her tampons weren't absorbent enough and some menstrual blood leaked down her legs into her socks. and as she was scratching her ankles the blood got on her finger tips so they gucked up her keyboard as she was posting on the forum.”
That is truly high level stimulating debate - or what?? Mind you, he will no doubt attack me once again, using his dictionary for much needed help. He sure has a bond - below the waistline. tongue.gif

All this usage of lol, wtf, fwiw, btw. It is certainly a sign of the times. Over in the UK they are now sending employees back to school to learn how to compose a letter using English, since so many are now restricted in their manner of speech or the written word.

Byke, Streja’s thoughts on breadcrumbs are, in fact, a bit out. The batter for the fish is often a secret of the fryer, but basically is composed of flour (Self-raising/rising - frying?) oil, salt and seemingly beer or lager. No breadcrumbs. They get used when you fry fish, but not for deep-frying. Also, the fat used for the deep frying is usually beef dripping, for the very best flavour. But that dripping would be difficult to get in Sweden, and virtually impossible to get yourself unless you buy beef bones for the marrow, and do them down in the oven, since the meat is usually sold ‘fat-free’ for the likes of klubbnik, but in order to cook it you must still add fat or oil of some kind so nothing is gained, but flavour is lost. sad.gif

I might add that fish and chips were first sold from a shop in London - MY HOME CITY - back around the 1850's but no, contrary to what many may think - I was not around then, but I lived there, and experienced the Blitz in 1940.
From the above date - 1850 - I do think, therefore, that you could say that fish and chips do have a tradition. 160 years of it. So let us not treat the subject too lightly - you are treading on hallowed ground. In fact the non-Brits here, who so deprecatingly speak of what is almost a national dish, should show a little respect. (Not that they will - that would involve acceptance). rolleyes.gif

Hey ho the merry oh!!

I cant tell you that it doesnt mean prick, it means a miserable cunt. I feel sorry for your pupils if your a teacher. Thats probably why there is so much crime these days if they have to look up to a moron like you. Ps what do you teach RE?

I thought something was wrong with the spelling but couldn't identify what... i tried "Glaswegian" too but it also looked wrong.. I am dyslexic though so a little slack could perhaps be cut here? tongue.gif

Regarding the american measurements, I meant to point specifically to the "cup" measurements... which we do not use in the UK. It annoys me to no end that Americans often, and Swedes almost exclusively measure many solids using volumetric measurements rather than weight (eg. 1 Cup of flour, 3dl chopped mushrooms etc.). The UK has moved on regarding the other measurements too with the exception of the older generations still using imperial for cooking.
