The Local is an English-language online newspaper published in Sweden and Germany. The German and Swedish sites, while alike in appearance, have separate editorial teams, each focused on its respective market.

Coverage is purely domestic in each country, and includes current events, politics, economy, sports and culture, as well as analysis and opinion. There are also guides to Swedish and German society aimed at English-speaking foreigners, a who's who of local celebrities and a discussion forum

The original Swedish edition began in 2004. The German edition was launched in 2008.

Yes the Fish 'n'Chip slanging match became quite a thing before it got closed by the moderators. Moderators who seem not to want me starting any new thread.

However, I did a little survey of the Fish 'n chips war that ran for 308 entries before it was closed down. The following figures might give an indication of the extent of the war. You will no doubt recognize one or two of the names.

Still here - but life got way too busy. I don't even have time to read the news anymore and I like to stay informed. Only able to read the news once a week - BUMMER!

The search feature NEEDS TO BE RE-INDEXED because it is not picking up all the postings. It was working fine over a year ago and then seemed to break down late spring of last year.

It seems that peoples posts are still DISAPPEARING - which means they are NOT being removed by the moderators. Somehow the database is loosing them. This problem became very noticeable around the same time the database searches started to fail.

The chart is not wrong per se. If that certain poster has used two names, then not knowing the other, I can only assume that it falls among the 32 others, who contributed anything from one upwards, but below the chosen twenty break-point. These can easily be listed should it serve a purpose.

Me, too. I never agreed with him and his conspiracy theories were often way out there where the buses don't run, but he was original and literate.
