I just wondered how the arrangement is made when I want to take my driving test?
I know you can do the theory in English and I know I can get lessons in English. Now I want to take an intensive course. But... - who books the test? You or the driving school? Do they say "Now you are ready" and book it, or...? - can you ask for the test in English? Because one driving school told me they thought the test would be in Swedish. But I am not sure if this is correct. Thanks in advance. |

Remember to do the actual practical driving test, not theory, there is a requirement that the car used has dual controls, unless You are exempt from that. (cant remember where You check)
This rule was put in place a little while ago, because more and more people were teaching each other to drive without buying lessons from driving schools, it was a way of protecting a little of the business. It is mostly only driving schools that have the dual control cars, and they often require You pay for minimum to use the car, but many also for a minimum number of lessons. |

You can book the driving test yourself. Keep in mind that the driving test must be scheduled not less than two months after passing the theory test. I think that I scheduled them both during the same call.
I didn't take any driving lessons and paid to use one of the cars at the testing center. You can request a driving exam in English, as I did, but my tester spoke only Swedish. It wasn't a problem at all since he woluld say instructions such as "turn here" or "follow the signs to Täby", etc. |

The driving school requested an english speaking tester, we actually had quite a long chat while driving. only the ice test was done in swedish and i had an english speaking applicant from the school sitting in the car with me. i live way in the country so i expect you will be able to get one in the city. just ask and good luck.

you can book them online, I believe you can use a car from transportstyrelsen with dual control, of course you pay for this.
but just book the tests online, costs around 1000 for both |
