What is life like in Gotland, I heard that its the place where Swedes travel to on Summer vacation
and love to visit because of the awesome weather. I'm guessing its more laid back then a city like
Stockholm, I have the feeling that its pretty much a different culture then the rest of Sweden.

What kind of things are there to do ?

Also what is it like to live there, does it ever feel boring not being in the culture hubs like
Stockholm or Gothenburg ?

I'm guessing its a place where people dream about going after the retire ?

I lived for a year on Öland which has similarities to Gotland. Öland is very laid-back and peacefull and extremely beautiful. Many retirees live there, but a lot of people live there only in the summer. Once the tourist season shuts down there is not a lot of businesses that stay open year round. That could be boring if you crave a big-city social life. The natives can be a little stand-offish until they get to know you.

I hear that Gotland is just like that, even more so.
