How about England, Australia, Canada or the USA so that TheLocal can attract writers and editors that are fluent in the English language?
(I spend some time on the German site, the French one did not seem to have too much reader interaction but tomorrow evening and Monday I will most probably be visiting TheLocal France) |

Might be a good idea to consolidate some of its markets as the standards of the journalism seem to have dropped in the past year - they seem to be going for a high hit rate based on "shock value" (immigration/crime/scandals) a lot of the articles seem to be Swiglish cut and paste from the tabloids but not always an accurate representation of Sweden's major news issue

The reason I ask is because when they expanded they didn't go for Denmark or Finland.
Is because of the local rags, the Copenhagen Post, the Helsingin Sanomat International Edition and the Helsinki Times. |

Denmark and Finland would be excellent additions. In my case the in-laws and circle of friends/acquaintances are Finnish/Swedish/Danish.

There is only one "Local" and it is here!
Those other sites are not even "copy cat" quality...something that works in a place does not mean it will work elsewhere. It's the people here that make it...can I say work?... Nice try...but! |
