I've been living here for 2 weeks now. Been out to the bars and clubs a few times and haven't seen any urinals yet. I come from Ireland where they are very common, as they are in most 1st world countries.
So...where the hell are they!? |

Haha, love it. Everywhere I have been has had single toilets with male and female labels. Everyone ignores them though and uses whatever is available.

You can be fooled by a door with both symbols on wondering what you will find, only to open on a row of cubicles again often all with 2 symbols on. A toilet is a toilet after all.

exactly, it's confusing to put male and female symbols on a door that has only single cubicles behind it. Just put a sign saying "Toilets".

Then don't go to Ikea where the male/female signs are alike enough for some Swedes to get confused. And those doors open onto full male only/female only areas.

That's good new about the public toilets! I find them quite hard to find in the city also. Is there a particular sign that I am missing on the streets etc?
To answer the other queries: I'm a grower not a shower |

True public toilets are very uncommon. Shopping centres however almost always have them. After that it McDonalds or large stores with a restaurant or cafe area. When you get to know a place its useful to retain a mental maps of where they are.

@OP, If you have not found a urinal yet you are blind, the whole country is one. Sorry bad joke, but no one had taken the opportunity yet.
Swedes, although more so of Norwegians, love to pee in the outdoors. I also find the same to be true of the Irish. However, due to the Catholic vs. Lutheran values and socio-cultural one's in Ireland I suppose discretion is advised. Also, Swedes have very large penises on average, although the women's is a bit longer than the mans, so why should they be afraid to show off what they got? Honestly, I have no idea why but it sure is fun guessing. |
