Does anyone also requested health insurance by Skatteverket ?
First of all, thanks for your time to read and I am more appreciated your answers and suggestions. my situation is I'd married to my husband (EU citizen) in last August. In the same month. I'd applied my resident permit and personal number. After that, I went to Hong Kong to arrange my removement and quit my job. For get ready to live with my husband. About a month later. I've got my 5 years resident permit card and a letter from Skatteverket which said I could get my Personnummer and my identity card . But meanwhile I were still keep arranging about my removement in Hong Kong. So I hadn't go to get my documents at last September. Finally, I'd removed to Sweden in this February. I'd went to Skatteverket to collect my Personnummer and my identity card. But the clerk in Skatteverket counter, she asked me to apply personnummer "again". And requested me to provide all documents "again". But by the cause of i don't speak Swedish. So my husband assisted me to handle these documents matters. Three days later. I've got the Skatteverket letter saids I couldn't get my personnummer, Because I hadn't healthcare cover. She requested me to have one before she approved my application. My question is, I'd never saw any details from migrationsverket that I need to having this Health insurance for passed my citizenship application. I only saw some travel website mentioned "I need the Health insurance if I planned to TRAVEL, STUDY or WORK in Sweden". I would like to pay for Health insurance, if i could. Please, anyone can tell me how and which insurance company willing accept me to having that insurance in their company? I also would like to know anyone had the same / similar case? I and my husband had went to Skatteverket asked about what can I do for it? But everytime we spoken to, none can answer it correctly. Their answers were difference by different person / robot. They totally haven't any job knowledge as they should. It is ridiculous to me. Because I get 5 years resident permit, but I couldn't got my personnumber for living. Thanks again to give me advice. Best wishes to you. |

I am unclear whether you are talking about citizenship or residence? you are presumably not eligible for citzenship if you recently married an EU citizen and only recently moved here - you need 5 years of continuous residence in sweden to by a citizen
What type of permit does your EU husband have in Sweden? is he working here or studying/living on own funds? Only people working here get health cover generally student or people with own funds need their own health insurance |

Hi, Puffin.
Thanks for you reply. I am appreciated. Yes, I were applied to residence. And yes, as you said i need 5 years of continuous residence in sweden than I can have my permanent residence. Although these conditions, but i still have my right to get my identity card and personnumber. These are from my friend's exprience. She younger than me. But she got her identity card and personnumber even she has temporary residence as I did. But she is more lucky. No one ask her to provide health insurance. Okay, back to your question. My husband is Danish. He has been live Sweden for six years. He has citizenship in Sweden. If as you said, I need have my own health insurance. I accept. And I also willing to pay for it. But I had tried to find one insurance company to accept to take my apply. But none. They said I need my personnumber. @@ It sounds funny and I stuck on it. So I asking help in here to see, if any one can give me any advice or Any one can tell me which company willing to do? Best regards. |

This is reduced to 3 years if married to a Swedish citizen which I believe she is as she mentions he is Danish but has Swedish citizenship. |

What sort of permit did you apply for? This may be the explanation
There are 3 types - family ties based on marriage to your Swedish citizen husband = no insurance required - family ties based on marriage to an EU citizen with residence in Seden = no insurance (but cannot be used if your husband is a Swedish citizen) - EU permit based on supporting yourself = insurance required if not working |

This was unclear in the post I actually repplied to that says only EU citizen Also owing to OP using citizenship/residence almost interchangably in the posts I am unclear whether OPs husband - Is Danish but with Swedish citizenship - Is a Danish citzen with long term residence in Sweden |
