Is there any way round it?

I have an old Samsung phone which used to be my Telia PAYG until i got an iphone in february on a contract. Anyway, my son's PAYG phone has died, and my old phone would be ideal to give him. trouble is, when I put his (also Telia) sim in and turned it on, it came up that I need to enter the phone lock code...which I can't remember because I haven't used the darned thing for over 4 months! Grrr.

Is there anything I can do to the phone, in order to reset it to zero?

My sambo was waffling on about how I have to have my sim in the phone because the phone is locked...but he's clearly getting confused over what a phone lock is. I'm not talking about when a phone is locked to a network or anything (not that it would be an issue because my son and I are both on Telia anyway), I just want to find or reset the actual phone lock pin code.

Any ideas would be appreciated-cheers!

Why would you want to do that instead of just recollecting the code? You have not really forgotten it, see this paper for supporting evidence dry.gif :

As to the actual lock code, you may want to try something along the procedure proposed in the link below ( it is not very good but I have nothing better right now )

The master codes for old Samsungs are generally quite freely available online. Here's a simple list: http://www.ipmart-forum.com/showthread.php...-Samsung-phones

You normally need to start the phone without a sim and enter the said code. I think the master rest code is *2767*3855# if you really don't mind wiping everything. I would suggest searching for master reset with the actual phone model because it could be different.
