You've got the right attitude, you just need to make sure that you give yourself enough time. A lot of my expat friends over here who came over for exactly the same reason found it took them a long time to get the right job, but we all agree that it was worth it. Go for it and good luck and like I mentioned before the construction industry is doing fine over here, much better than in the UK.
