Children's eye test test

We moved here from the UK and have person numbers and ROR.

Our daughter was referred for an eye test by the school nurse and we took her to a local optician in Motala. turned out her eyes were fine and before we left we paid 298sek.

I have no problem paying if that is how it works in Sweden, it just got me thinking because it is free in the UK (i think).

Does anyone know?

Unfortunately, kids eye appointments are not free here. If they get referred to a specialist at the hospital FROM a regular eye doctor, then the specialist is free.

Thats fine, i have no issue paying, we enjoy a good standard of living here in Sweden. Thanks for your reply.
