A tip for anyone watching the England Ukraine game on sky+ who wants to improve their experience:
Press the pause button at kick off, count to five and press play. Being a second or two behind the live game will give you that authentic Glen Johnson view of the play.

Since when did past history decide the result of football matches ?

Wish I knew, so I could fill my pools coupon in every weekend and quickly make a fortune.

Didn't see Sweden, but well done anyway.

As for England they were absolutely shocking and if justice was done they deserved to be on their way back home, Rooney especially, yes he got a goal to his name, but my Granny could probably have popped that in on her zimmer frame.

By the way Mzungu, why do you have to continue to lower the tone of the forum, possibly even more now than ever before ?

Ha, depends which Italy and which England turn up on Sunday.

Both teams been fairly inconsistent over the past 2 years capable of good and appalling performances,

I fancy the first 0-0 draw of the tournament...

Italy on kicks...it's a wonder England got that far!

But, hey! How come some teams get so much rest...like Germany?

Exactly as I predicted they simply weren't up to it, and as you say it's a wonder they got that far, possibly only due to a never say die central defence and a decent keeper.

Good to see that the four best teams all made it to the semis.
Lets hope the entertainment continues and none of them resort to parking the bus or worse.

Yeah, the 11 man wall tactic couldn't hold out forever. Nearly did, mind. At least they know their defence is pretty sound.

Well some teams do it out of choice.
For a brief spell in the first half England did manage to push forward and create something, but later in the game they had virtually no choice in the matter but employ all hands to the pumps, as they were continually pushed back by a superior side that gained total control of the middle of the park, so I don't see it as being a deliberate tactic.
