I'm still registered in Sweden although I recently moved back to the UK.

I'm thinking of applying for citizenship as I have been resident in Sweden for over a decade.

Can anyone offer advice or point me to resources that help me with the following. I couldn't find too much on the migrationsverket website.

1) What are the benefits of citizenship? The right to live in Sweden at anytime clearly...but any other benefits that are not so well publicized?
2) Will my girlfriend (lives in UK, never lived in Sweden) get any benefits form my citizenship as a spouse if we marry? Does she receive the right to live in Sweden? Any social benefits etc?
3) How long does this process take at the moment. Anyone been through the process recently?

Your information is not clear and it sounds very foolish in how you mention. Nothing is proper.
Are you a citizen of UK or from an EU country? It doesn't matter which nationality your GF is? And that is also not known clearly to the readers.
You are a resident in Sweden for a decade. It matters if you are an EU or a non-EU. If you studied and are a non-EU then none of the period is valid.
If you become citizen then you will get benefits if you only have children and are homeless. Home will be provided for you until they reach 18 or depending on how able or disable the children are. Till then you can leach the society. If you just live together or marry her and bring her. Then, it makes not much difference if you live here or in UK.
If you live with your girlfriend and don't pay your rent to the landlord if you have 1 hand contract then you will be kicked out. But, if you have children then the state will pay for you. Hospital is free after you and your GF pay 900 sek for normal medical purposes and around 1800 or something for dental care. Children have free hospital and free school.
To become citizen you need to show that you will live here in the future. Not living in another country and applying.

I am an American, and received my Swedish citizenship within 12 days of applying. You are not eligable because you are living abroad.

Unless you are stationed abroad for a Swedish company.
