(edit title) Working holiday Visa - Coordination Number Getting a samordningsnummer without work Options

Hi,
I recently moved to Gothenburg from New Zealand with 2 of my friends on a working holiday visa. We all have our ID cards and now we need our coordination number (samordningsnummer). We went into the tax office today to get the samordningsnummer but they said that it is not posible to get one without a job contract first. I was under the impression (possibly incorectly) that for Working Holiday Visa's it was posible to get a Coordination number without a work contract?

As far as I know, they won't give you a samordningsnummer if you aren't working. If you aren't working, you aren't paying taxes and therefore don't need the number.

However, when asking people in Sweden, you tend to get different answers. Keep asking!

This. I think they changed the rules. No work, no number. That's what happened to me anyways.
