My first port of call would be your partner. If they want you here long term, they need to support you more. He won't give you work where you will be able to practice Swedish everyday, but expects his sister too? Sounds odd to me.
Working ski hire isn't hard. Most customers who know anything about skiing will have their own kit, so punters only. Sometimes you will get folk who have travelled light, but they'll just tell you exactly what they want and already know their din settings etc, plus if somethings not fitting right, they can tell you straight off. It's only if you have kids to kit out, without parents that you'd struggle a bit. Get your skiing sorted and your language skills and you'd be away. I know a few Brits who do OK at ski schools in Scandinavia. Whilst all the locals clearly speak English, it is always easier to explain technical stuff in your first language. |

I am not from south I am from the north there is another girl on here asking about Gothenburg.
My partners sister doesn't own the ski shop just works there, I guess he just thinks so can I because she works there, and I worked retail when I was younger would much rather wash dishes or clean hotel rooms than work retail. Thanks guys for your help. |

I want some info on getting money while looking for work, my partner is not being much help with the Swedish side of things. LOL mine was the same, just hopeless didn't help me with shit or if he did he failed at it.
Bar work, restaurant work, cleaning (even thats harder nowadays, it's filled with young swedes). cleaning companies have a huge turnover of staff so you're in luck the

This was really great advice. If your native language is English you can try tutoring and other "in the black" opportunities exist if you are desperate for money. It's just about getting out there and letting people know you are looking for any kind of work. You could even get Arbets to help you set up a little company for yourself doing cleaning and ironing and other help around the home jobs. Companies offering these services have high turnovers and a lot of Swedes don't like to employ from them because they don't treat their staff well they have bad reputations, but there is actually a tax incentive to employ someone to help them if you wanted to do it on the books it's definitely possible. |

Go to Arbetsförmedlingen, they can help You ... also, depending how long ago You got your permit, and you are not an EU citizen, then you may be entitled to the step-in-job program. In that they will help support an employer by paying them up to 800:- per day to employ You whilst You are also studying at SFI. Check the link for a few more details, go register, and talk with them
