Today I received an e-mail regarding a certain Serial No. from 'Barrister Larry William'. I have won £1.000.000:- in the ongoing British National Lottery Promo and I must forward my claim to the aforesaid barrister.

Ah - should I be so lucky. No doubt this man will require a fee to handle my claim, a fee that will perhaps amount to a percentage of the claim. Then I shall receive my winnings. Or not, as the case may be. In any case I could kiss goodbye to my paid-out percentage.

But as is usual in cases like this, and this is not the first I have received, I have never bought a ticket, and therefore do not expect such wealth to come my way.

Alas - this is another one of the multitudinous scams designed to lure unsuspecting people to give their personal details, and who could not do so at the thought of such an unexpected windfall? My usual response is to provide the scammers with my 'bank account number' which, when translated into text amounts to something like:-
'pull-theo-ther-one2'.

One, a few years ago, I played along a bit, and was given the address in London to which I was to write and present my credentials, and then I would have to pay a fee to the agent handling the claim. I then finally replied that I would be visiting the UK with my solicitor, and we would, together, present the credentials and proof of identity in person. Nothing more was heard from them ! ! !

Ah well, easy come, easy go. hey ho the merry-oh.

Anyone else suffer from these con men?? Or Nigerian princes wanting to use your bank account for an inheritance??

Yeah I've had loads of that crap over the years. Mostly I just ignore them (or post them on Facebook so my friends get a laugh), or sometimes I reply, telling them to F Off.

It's good that you CAN reply. I once wanted to reply to them and write them a few things about procreation ... with themselves ... but gues what! I could not reply to that email. That's REALLY convinced me the email was real and honest. Deffinetly not a scam.
