Judging from the photographs the inset of the windows and the extension of the walls out from the basement walls, the house appears to have been insulated externally. That, in itself could be a good feature, and the windows themselves appear to be of a later model than one would expect for a house from the '50s.
It would seem that the advice given by the various folks has covered pretty well everything else, and you have clearly been advised well, and taken note of it all. The absolute main thing is to buy with your wallet, and not with your heart. "I do so love this house that I must have it at all cost." - that sort of attitude could be your downfall, especially with Kr1.M at stake. The advice about the survey - even if you must work an extra couple of weeks to pay for it - do it. But with a reputable surveyor, not one associated with the seller!
