Buying Deodorant in Sweden

More variety somewhere?

Seems like a silly topic but I've been using Gillette Clear Gel deodorant for so many years that I'm not looking forward to switching. Having family mail me deodorant from the USA seems silly as well.

Is there a store in Sweden that either sells Gillette Deodorant or at the very least has some variety? I'm not really looking forward to trying out 5 different types until I find one that l like but some variety would probably be nice.

Surely I'm not the only one who has had this issue.

Your not the only one! the brands here actually give me a rash and they dont sell antipersperant, only deoderant. I get my stuff from the states actually, its not a big deal to mail some and it lasts forever. otherwise you have to go to any country except sweden/norway/Denmark to get this stuff. Estonia has it, Poland, etc...

What on earth are you blubbering about. All deodorants are antiperspirant; just read the label.

large supermarkets such as coop and ICA maxi have a wide selection of antiperspirant-deoderants - they may have a different name - for example "sure" in the UK is called "Rexona" in Sweden

Wow, it's called Rexona in NZ as well. I just assumed that was global. I don't know what brand I use, it's the one that my wife tells me we're buying.

Actually, all deoderants are not anitperspirants. Aluminum is added to antiperspirants to reduce the amount of sweat.

True, but any deodorant that says anti-perspirant contains aluminium salts, and most of the deodorants at a regular supermarket are anti-perspirant.

Like many things, choice of products is very small here. Men's deodorants have a poor range.

Yes, unless you go for the major perfume brands you basically only have the following brands to choose from: AXE, Nivea, Rexona, Dove, Garnier, Palmolive, Gilette, Barnängen, Salming, LdB, ICA, Neutral, and a few smaller ones.

How many non aerosol deodorants then? And how many of those brans are available in the same store?

It is like the 1950's in Sweden sometimes.

In my local ICA-Maxi they have most of the brands I listed, about equally divided between aerosols and sticks/gels and roll-ons. My local Willy's on the other hand is like a Soviet-era store...

After a trip to the States, my hubby got hooked on the Clear Gel too. Unfortunately, there isn't anything like it here. But the good news is that you can get it at Chemist Direct for reasonable price and reasonable shipping when you order your OTC meds you can't find here too.

I'm pretty sure that the ICA Maxe in Huddinge is Sweden's largest and they definitely had very little to choose from. I've also scoured the internet.

If there's a store in the Stockholm area just let me know and I'll make the trek there.
