How about this for Police, Camera, Action ! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-22...e-ram-road.html And there I thought the Local was good at picking up news relevant to Sweden ! ( I only added the last bit in retaliation for the site telling me I had too few words ).

I am sure many others will disagree with me on this.
But that is incredibly dangerous driving isn't it? While its a cool bunch of photos, it does state that after the police had rammed the car off the road ... 'But then the officer keeps going and turns the Audi right over.' Is that justifiable amounts of force? Considering the danger it could impose to human life, irrespective of crime? Should such risks be justifiable by the police? or does after a crime being committed give justification to any action taken? I know the person who was trying to escape could obviously be putting the life of others in danger by his risks. But does that justify such "professionalism" that also looks to endanger life when the car had already been stopped? #2-Wrongs-Dont-Make-A-Right-IMO Again cool story, and cool pics ... good they got the driver. But must question the levels of action taken after the car had been rammed off the road. |

The Local probably decided against running the story as it had any or all of the following:
1. No camp bi-line. i.e three transvestites sitting in the back of the felony car 2. No one paid for advertising to appear across the story 3. No writers who could read the English version |

Yes, it is a dangerous maneuver, but according to the photographer it was not unjustified since the driver was putting everyone else in danger: http://www.fotosidan.se/cldoc/joen-jarl-fa...ama-pa-bild.htm The driver and passenger where two heavily intoxicated thieves, and from a simple guess it was probably a PIT maneuver that went wrong, or that the driver still tried to get away after plowed off the road. Police generally don't want to wreck their own vehicles unless it is really needed. |
