Of course it does.. Some could argue its the largest practicing religion in Sweden.. Unless you are suggesting that Sweden isn't a democratic nation?

Thank you byke

SWEDEN is a democratic country

Every one like his religion ,

We respect each other in this country.

You can not change ur religion in this FORUM , its useless discussion .

Goto religious centers to know about specific religion

In this context, I was referring to the laws that govern Sweden. Islam, like Christianity and Judaism, has set of rules that poeple must follow if they are practicing the religion. However, not everyone follows all these rules.

I found this reportage recently on SVT interesting about how Imans treat their women. A religion living in the stone age.

http://www.svt.se/ug/besoket-i-goteborgs-moske-ord-for-ord

Check out the other links as well. Only one iman supported the 2 women. A discrace.

Isn't this the fundamental question, for a believer which is more important when the laws of religion oppose the law of state? And more importantly, which is to be followed?

If these women were really abused by their husbands they didnt need to go to imam or mosque for advice. They clearly spoke Swedish and they know the laws and where to get help from. They were just looking trouble and the media who employed them wanted to show one side of the story.

You are blinded by the facts. The highest religious leaders in Sweden showed what the Muslim religion stands for. There is no doubt about how these highly placed leaders reacted-

It depends on the situation and what is required from practicing individual. For instance, muslim women are required to dress certain way by their religion and doing so will not break the law of the state (Sweden). But if the state demands that they follow code of dress that violates their religious requirement then they have to decide which law they want to follow. This depends on their level of religiousity, and other factors.

I'm very glad to not be an Islam follower .
Women in Arab countries have pressure on them all the time since they are small girls ,so they become complexed when they are adults and accept to be lower than a man. That's the thing = They think they are glad to be Muslim but they just have been forced to.
Arabs who applies for residence permits to live in Sweden then once there start to live just like they have been living in their country must have some kind of problems in the head.
Also if an European tell them the truth about that the way they live is bad they call him/her "racist" or "closed minded".
But they don't understand that the most closed minded people in the world are THEM.
"Women can't do this , Women can't do that..."
"It's okey if an Arab guy date a Swedish girl but it's not okey if a Swedish guy date an Arab girl"
There's plenty of things like this.
At least in Sweden I don't get insulted because I wear a dress, the only times I've been insulted in Sweden was by Arabs guy .
Those who must get insulted on the street are women who dress like Ben Laden wife not like me.

Rima might be an Arab but not Muslim. Anyway , she is entitled to her opinion, and to be honest no one cares about hers.

Adha Moubarak!! Enjoy the holiday with your family and friends.

And Merry Christmas in advanced to the my fellow Christians. I wish to visit Gothenburg/Lisberg during the Christmas holidays..

Cheers

Hej,

I'm a Turkish girl and an atheist. I'm from a secular country.

Celebrating eid doesn't mean people try to convert Sweden into an islamic country. We have really high muslim population here in Turkey, but we are not an islamic country. In my opinion noone have to respect religious holidays. I don't respect any barbaric rituals like that. But I cannot say what people should believe in or how they should celebrate their holidays. I tend to stay neutral in these situations.

But I really understand Rima, I don't know any Arab but I'm really aware of islamic traditions and society. It's totally full of double standarts and contradicting with themselves. That's my opinion.

ADHA MUBARAK for you

I think its NOT the right place here to discuss the religion

If want to know about ISLAM goto religious Centers , i think there are many

If u dont like ISLAM , u will not stop MUSLIMS to like and love their religion

And if u hate ISLAM , UR TALK IS TAX FREE ,USELESS

We are here in SWEDEN , WE RESPECT EACH OTHER

I think some people here come with religion from their country and then they do not follow their religion

Its up to them , If u know rules about ISLAM ,u can not quit ISLAM for just a new society

The same for christians , they will not change just because they are in MUSLIMS countries

If some body will change , he/she will change for another reasons.

HAPPY EID ADHA FOR ALL MUSLIMS in the WORLD and for Swedish Muslims
