Need my passport officially signed

Cheaply if possible

I am making an application and need a police clearance check for a county I lived in previously. So I need a copy of my passport officially signed by " a foreign authority or a notary public ". Who in Sweden can do this? In the UK a teacher can do it, which is free, or a solicitor can do, which is not. What type of professional can/will sign a copy of passport here (without it costing the earth)?

I am somewhat unclear as to exactly what you need however try you bank as often there is a "jurist" there that might help. Depending on your relationship with the bank it might be relatively cheap.

So what exactly are you needing now? You just need a passport copy - with your OWN signature visible - for the extract. http://www.polisen.se/en/Languages/Service...ecord-Extracts/

What comes to a notary public, thats a lawyer who advertises under "notarius publicus", they're county appointed and you should be able to find one say in gula sidor. You ought to take all the papers you need notarized over at once.

Your bank will certify a copy of your passport. Most will do it for free to customers. At most they will charge you 50kr

Thanks for your replies. I went to the bank (swedbank) and was told no. But I'm not happy with them, so that just may be a reflection of their customer service. So I went to the police. Done in 5 minutes for free. Happy days.

BTW it was a signed copy of my passport I was after. My title was unclear.
