Medical residency in Sweden

Hello everyone.
I have finish my medical graduation (MBBS) along with the one year internship from India. I would like to inquire what is the procedure of pursuing further education in Sweden. My field of interest in cardiovascular surgery

It is a very long and complicated process if you are not an EU qualified doctor - it will take several years before you could do a residence

Before you can apply for a residency you must
- register
- become fully fluent in Swedish - takes 1-3 yeard to reach this level
- take medical knowledge examinations to display a full understanding of medicine and Swedish medical Law - the exam must be taken in Swedish and takes more study time - around 6-12 months

Only when the above steps are completed can you apply for a residency
